Well guys, another completely useless thread brought to you by Ginnis. However, this one should be interesting....
So I was wondering, what was your first job?? How much did you make, and any other info you want to share.
I work at Shirley's Cookie Factory 3 days a week for 8 hours a day for $6. It's not bad, I either put the cookies in the plastics, or most often, I pack the plastics in the boxes and load them on a skid. Sometimes I crack eggs or deposit, which is scooping dough from a bowl and putting it into a hopper that puts the dough on a paper to be baked. It gets a little boring, but the people I work with are really freakin' wierd so they keep me entertained. LOL Bullscrickers we call 'em.... ROFLMBO
So.... your turn!

When you're at the store keep a look out for them. They'll either be Shirley's, Aunt Betty's, or any Sam's club and alot of Wal-Mart's carry them.
Oh, and a woman just got fired for steeling cookies so I don't think I'll be sneakin' anything any time soon. LOL

My first job was running equipment and doing repairs on equipment and trucks for my cousins company. Trucking, excavation, septics. When I got my license I was driving trucks. never got my cdl though. I'd be plowing for the town in his trucks, with no cdl. I would also truck produce on the east coast with an eagle international, 13 speed eaton road ranger, and a 45 foot refer. By the time i was trucking produce I was 19, even though you were supposed to be 21 to drive state to state.
I started with my cousin at $8/hr, and never got over $12/hr. During that time, a guy who owned a pit knew that I hauled for my cousin out of his pit. Since he knew we would load ourselves, he asked me to run his loader for a couple days. He was sifting loam, then I was pileing it. He said I did a better job than some of his employees do and paid me $25/hr!!!! I was psyched. I went on to work in the "real world" (above the table) at Wendy's for $5.25/hr. It didn't take long to figure out that wasn't my cup of tea, so I went to work for a guy ripping out underground oil tanks and putting in new above ground units. Then I went back to work for my cousin before I had to take another "real world" job because my then girlfriend was pregnant, and i needed healthcare for when my daughter was born. It was only $6.50/hr at a car dealership, and I knew I had to get into a trade so eventually I became an electrician. Only to figure out that even that doesn't pay enough. Now I'm looking to find something in the trades that will pay between 75-100K/year.

Well let me think. In 7th or 8th grade I worked a little for my dad.(He is an excavator) My real first job came the summer after my 9th grade year. I worked for a tree trimmer. Hauled brush to the chipper and chipped it. The summer after that I worked for my dad in the excavating business. The next summer I worked for 2 individuals, taking care of their lawns etc. I also worked for the tree trimmer again this same summer, only this time I worked in the lawn care part of the business. This summer I am helping out my dad every so often, and another guy I know when he needs me. I also work for the same individuals taking care of their lawns, digging ditches etc...basically whatever needs done. I am also working again for the tree trimmer, only this time in both the lawn care and the landscaping part of the business. OK I think that takes care of about all my jobs. lol cant beat manual labor

Amen to the manual labor!! I wanted to get a job as a day laborer for a guy at my church who runs a construction business, but he never got back to me. So now I'm stuck in the mental ward, packin' cookies....

Well, the Shaw's, the owners of the factory, their kids go to my school, and for some odd reason they like me. Yes, someone DOES like me. LOL But anyhow, I needed a job and I asked her and she gave me the job on the spot. Alot of kids from my school are getting jobs there too, which is nice 'cause we're all pretty much really close.
