If your talking about a tent style pop up, Id say you would be ok. The wife and I used to use a kerosene heater tent camping for many years. In our old tent trailer we used to just light a burner to warm things up. We never left one burning over nite though.

Carbon Monoxide is deadly and you don't know it is there until it is too late. I guess the question is do you care so little about your family too take that risk?

Buy a carbon monoxide detector too just to be safe. Only 20 bucks.

Honestly, shut off or not, I think a carbon monoxide detector is a no brainer.

As long as you crack a window you can use a little propane catalytic heater. We used one when we had our cabover camper.
