PLYMOUTH, MASSACHUSETTS (AP) - An 8-year-old boy from Plymouth has died after being injured in an ATV accident last Sunday. The boy and an 8-year-old friend were riding an ATV belonging to the friend's parents and were unsupervised. The ATV flipped and pinned the boy underneath. According to state regulations, the boys were too young to ride the ATV's unsupervised and the ATV was too large for their age.

We were riding last weekend and we past a whole family riding together on the trail. The woman in the group had a baby in a bicycle seat type thing strapped to the back rack of her quad. The baby was wearing a bicycle helmet and they were just puttung around real slow but you never know whats coming over the hill or around the next curve. At first we thought it was cute but after thinking about it for a moment we thought that was pretty stupid. I think that may be okay at home but not out on a public trail system where theres always another inconciderate moron coming around the next bend about 50 mph.

BassBlaster, that too is crazy. Let the little one spend the day with Grandma or something. They grow up fast enough to ride on their own eventually. That is just to young for public trails. Why is it that I am thinking the atv in the original post is probably something in the 400cc+ range and has 4x4? Has the actual size or model of machine ever been published? Still, you can't help but feel terrible for the families involved
