Default How to Prevent Rust???

DVXDude,

You may want to try sanding/wirebrush as much surface rust off as you can then go to a hardware store and get some stuff called Os-Pho (it is a greenish blue liquid with phospheric acid in it) and apply it to the rusted areas. It deactivates the oxygenation part of rusting and treats the metal. Then wipe off the os-pho with a damp cloth, let surface dry then prime and paint it with good quality paint (rustoleum is good). Wait about a week or so for the paint to cure then get some of the .5mm or 1mm thick clear adhesive membrane that people use to protect their rocker panels on vehicles. Cut strips to cover as much of your A-arms as you want to.

I am going to try this on one of my machines this year as well. I know 1 other person who has done this and he likes it.

Also, due to the fact that there is no way to totally remove the humidity (moisture) from the air any exposed steel will rust.
