200$ boots
#3
For recreational sport quad riding or dirt bike, I like the Alpinestars Tech 6. Good compromise between adequate protection, and not being to heavy or to bulky. I think they are a little over $200 however (?).
There are lots of boots that have descent protection and are in the $150-175 range, if you aren't a high risk rider. Check out Rocky Mountain ATV on line.

I wear a pair of these, Gaerne explorer boots. They are extremely light and durable. They also have a lug sole. Plus they can be had for about $150.
