The biggest riding mistake I've made so far is trading my Recon in when I purchased my Rancher.

I really should have kept that bike, it was a real hoot to ride.

I've made a few mistakes but here's probably the dumbest. Down at my sister's house there are a few valleys with some nice hillclimbs. One of the hill climbs has about 80 fet at the bottom until there is a creek about 6-8 feet across. I jumped it once on my lt250 and it was smooth. It was easy considering i was jumping from a high bank to a low bank, about a 6 foot drop. One day my brother in law was egging me on to do it again, so i did. Only i wasn't paying attention and picked the wrong line. Before i knew it, i was screaming 3rd gear into the bank on the other side. I hit so hard the bumper stuck in the mud, i flipped over the bars and landed on my back. Luckily i was wearing chest protection, that saved some bruises. The only damage the quad suffered was i popped the bead. I've had a few similar accidents as well. Thankfully i wasn't riding alone and someone was there to laugh at me.

Me and my friend were riding my yamaha breeze and decided to make our own trail. As we got close to the end we saw a short but steep hilclimb with a log at the bottom. My friend was driving he went full power the front wheels went up a littleas we went over the log but on the hill our front wheels were way to far up. we were now straight up and we both slid off the seet. My friend pile drove on the ground. He escaped but I was stuck. There was a 50/50 chance my quad would either land on top of me or it would land safely on all 4 wheels. To my luck it land safely on all 4 wheels.Well good bye and rid safe!

Being competitive cost me a broken leg. I had my lt250 out and was happy to be on it. It was down for 2 years and this was my first real all day ride. I came across a guy on a Honda 250r and one thing led to another. We were both going down the same trail and fast! The trail was wide enough for one quad and there was grass on each side about 4 feet high. I decided to make a pass and gave the throttle a full twist as I headed into the grass. I was just about in front of him and was getting ready to pull back onto the trail when I hit a cement slab from an old picnic table shelter. It did not give. I went over the bars and the bike came rolling and tumbling after me. When the dust settled, I was about 30 feet ahead of the slab and my bike was a mess. Then the pain in my leg hit. The cool thing about that day was I got to take a ride in the Careflight chopper to the hospital. I have never felt more like an a** than that day. The guy on the Honda must have though I was some idiot!

Back around 1988 or so,I had a King Quad 4x4 ATV.Myself and brother Dominic[Warrior] headed to the gravel pits one Sunday afternoon.I decided it would be a great idea to try and see how awesume this 4x4 quad really was!

I spotted a small [about 20ft] gravel mound and attempted to climb it.The mound was VERY STEEP!I just started to climb it and the whole quad flipped over and my handlebars hit me right in the center of my back when it landed on me.HURT?WOW!

It took the wind completely out of me for a few moments, but I was OK after a long rest.My back was sore for 2 wks and this accident could of been worse.Stupid me,not a chance to make that mound and im not even sure why I tried it!
