Injuries up, but fatalities down........
We are seeing two things here.....
1: More people are riding, so more people are getting hurt....sport ATVs have taken the industry by storm again... more people are racing and riding sport machines than in any recent years. Which means more thrill seekers are coming to ATVs, which means more injuries just by numbers.
2: Deaths are down - which IMO means a couple things. One of which is that the machines are better, handle better, and are lighter.
So while there are still crashes, they are not as catastrophic since the machines handle better and are lighter. A 350-pound machine rolling on your will hurt you, but probably not kill you. It could also mean people are wearing more safety equipment so what was once a death crash is only an E-room visit.
