Need some winch info
#2
I really like Warn's XT30. Some of the cheaper brands seem to hold up OK, but if you want to spend the money...
It is fully sealed, the synthetic cable is nice, and the wireless remote is really nice.
When you get hung up in something that's tough to walk in, say breaking through the crust of deep snow, it is really nice to only slog through one trip to the tree or other ancor point (just use the remote to pull the atv out from over by the tree, run some slack in it, and spool back in on your way back to the quad).
KFI makes nice mount plates at a good price point. Rocky mtn ATV sells a Tusk winch accessory kit. It is cheaper than the warn kit, and I actually like it better (nicer bag, and comes with a set of work gloves). The bag has room for an extra tow strap and clevis, which completes the kit nicely.
