Default 2 questions here

Hi,I just bought a 2009 Honda Foreman 500 .
I bought the Machine to use on the farm Deer hunting mainly.
I am very interested in knowing if anyone has used a Cab type of cover or enclosure to keep the rain and wind off of you while Hunting?Homemade or commercial and how did it work?
The second question is about using a long shifter bar to shift the transmission instead of using the foot shifter.
I am thinking that might be a good option to keep a person from getting their feet and pants wet while running in water(like )a flooded ricefield and then just have a place to rest your feet higher on the Machine and use the hand shifter.
I would appreciate any Input on these subjects.
Thanks
Craig

On one of the cabs I saw it looks like your exhaust would come up inside of it. I didn't seriously look at any others after that. I've seen the hand shifter in catalogs. My friend made his own so he could ride with a broken leg. It worked okay for him but he took it off as soon as he got the cast off his leg.

No I would not want one that the exhaust would come up onto !
I cant even imagine a company making one that would design it to do so !
If I put a hand shifter on mine I would not be taking it off as it would be there for a purpose ,keeping my feet and pants leg dry .
Thanks
Craig

Not a lot of shifting on the Foreman on slower rough trails . My friend just puts his in 3rd and trail rides like its a automatic.
The ATV can take off from a dead stop in 3rd easily but he has lighter 25" tires.

yep thats what I am thinking.
been hunting for over 40 years and know that animals feed before and after a rain and even during .
Also have seen it rain for 20 minutes and then clear up,but enough to get you soaking wet.
Also that ole cold north wind will cut right through you !
Way I see it if I can get at least 3 years out of it it has has increased my odds a bunch. After all you got to be out there!
And I can amortize it a little over $100.00 a year IF it will last 3 years.
I got high expectations ,lets see if the product will meet them as I sure do like the concept and design.

I got the Quick cab faster than I thought !
Got it yesterday evening and will have some pics up today and tommorow.
pretty sure i am going to really gonna like this ,once I get over the sticker shock !
I was leery it might be a very thin flimsy material but it is is thick enough that it looks like it is going to be extremely durable.
Also came with DVD that explains how to assemble the first time and how to use.
