IMHO...the hours are irrelevant when working on your baby...you'd spend those hours looking/rubbing/sitting/staring/etc. anyways...so why not spend them making it look like your unique machine. I LOVE custom work...the satisfaction is always worth it because no-one, and I mean no-one cares as much about your quad as you!

You are right jumbo. I was lucky and was ashamed later for not being grateful that I was fine. And like I said, I do not ride on trails that are so narrow that I will scrape on trees or brush. They are all 50 inch trails. So had I not taken a dive on it, the paint job would still be intact over 2 years later. And DirtDevil, you are correct also. The labor that I factored in was to estimate the cost of an automotive quality finish in case someone else was considering a project of this type. And your last statement could not be more true.

I mostly ride 50" trails but sometimes the trail tips one way and a tree leans the other way. My rear rack extenders have taken some hits over the years, by my rear fender got it too.
