Does anyone have one of those Harbor Freight Trailers?
The one I'm getting is 4x8 with an 990lbs loading capacity with 12" rims. IT WEIGHS 220LBS
I'm curious if it's a good solid trailer and will it be ok for hauling my grizzly.
The price is unbeatable if it's strong I'm getting mine for 269.00 w/ free shipping.

Well Im not sure if mine is the same trailer or not, mine is 4x8 with 10 inch rims. Mine tilts, dont know if yours does or not. This trailer is great.........except it seems very light. When it is not loaded, the thing bounces around on the road. I know my tires are not the best, but if we are being goofy and driving over about 40 mph, and just start to turn the wheel back and forth a little, the trailer will go into a slide from side to side. It isnt too bad when its loaded. Thats an excellent price, I had to drive 2 hours to get mine, and even then it was still $450.00

Hope I helped

Derek

I had the 4 x 8 w/ 12" rims. Paid $264 for it. I didn't trust it for trailering the weighty Sportsman around. You could see it bend and sag at the mid point when loaded. Used it once and sold it. Went and bought a 4 x 10 galvanized w/ 13 " rims. There's no question as to its durability.

I don't know if it's the same one or not, but Harbor Freight has the same size trailer, for about the same price out here. They have a sticker on a couple different ones though which says "not intended for highway use" in big bold letters, along with one that says "do not exceed 45 mph". Same tire sizes as both of the ones you mentioned. I hate to be rude, but for towing around a $6,000+ machine in most cases now days, I'd really hate to put my trust in a $260 trailer, not suitable for highway use. If you can swing the money, Big Tex makes small 4x6 and 4x8 tilting trailers for around $500-$700 (for a little larger)-at least the going rate around here-that is if you want a small trailer. They are A LOT stronger, definately more trust worthy than the ones at Harbor Freight. I'm sure there are a few more trailer companies with similar prices and products to Big Tex, just they're the only ones I know of for sure that would be back in that area. We sell a ton of them out here at the local farm supply store. Not only do they have the small ones, but anything in between, clear up to 35+ foot gooseneck's. A trailer can be a real asset to not only your quad, but also your house-great for hauling trash, yard debris, stuff like that come spring clean-up time. Also good for camping, other outdoor adventures whether you take the quad or not. Sometimes it's better to get a little bigger than you think you might need, just for hauling extra gear around.

Anyway, best of luck, hope I didn't offend anyone!

Mike

I've got to agree with Cowboy. You'll probably spend twice the amount but have a trailor for a lifetime with a little care instead of a year or two. I don't know if there is any tractor supply stores up there but for around double your money I think these would be a much better trailor. Does the trailor your looking at, fold up to be stored. If so I would stay away from it.

I have one of those Harbor Freight trailers with the 12 inch tires and it hauls my cat just fine. I just had to beef up the tongue with some angle iron. Then welded it together after bolting it together. I also have made it so it will not fold up for storage. I have about as many miles or more on the trailer as I do my Cat. Works pretty good, besides if it ever comes apart while trailering the cat, well that's why I pay for insurance.
