Before doing business with RECREATION UNLIMITED read the fine print. They
charge a 20% restocking fee and they only issue IN HOUSE CREDIT for items
returned. These rules apply even if they ship you an incorrect item!! I
have ordered over $8K worth of merchandise from the internet over the last 3
years and I have never run into a company with such poor customer service as
RECREATION UNLIMITED.

The locking axle nut that I ordered did not fit my Raptor and when I called
to return it they refused to issue a Will-Call so I had to pay to ship it
back. I also had a difficult time with the jerk in their customer service
dept., see my letter below.

I waited for over a month and never received a credit on my card so I called
to find out why. I was told that they only issue IN HOUSE CREDIT for items
returned. I pointed out that the mistake was theirs not mine and therefore
I wanted my card credited and I wanted reimbursed for the return shipping.
After going through the manager I finally got them to credit my card but
they still refused to reimbursed me for the return shipping.

Do yourself a favor and shop somewhere else. There are way too many good
companies to order from to put up with people like RECREATION UNLIMITED.
After I returned the RAD LOCK I ordered a Lonestar locking axle nut from
www.kandkatv.com. It didn't fit either but what a difference when I called them
to return it. No problems, no questions and they issued a Will-Call so I didn't have
the expense or hassle of sending it back. Rocky Mountain ATV is also an
excellent company to do business with. I ordered a set of 22" Bandit rear
tires and rims and I had to return them because they measured only 20" tall.
Again no problems, no questions and they issued a Will-Call.

RE: RMA #DW0607

Dear Sirs:

Let me start by saying that your Customer Service SUCKS! I ordered a RAD
LOCK axle nut for my 2001 Yamaha Raptor last Sunday and had it shipped
second day air because I was leaving on vacation Friday, June 8th. Your
order desk said that they didn't have one for the Raptor but that a Banshee
nut would work. The nut arrived as promised but it does not fit. I had to
cancel my vacation because of that, so I was irritated when I called about
returning it.

Your Customer Service Rep. (I did not get his name unfortunately) listened
to my complaint but instead of saying that he was sorry for the mix-up and
sorry that my vacation had to be canceled, instead proceeded to tell me that
I had the correct part. When I told him it DID NOT FIT and that I wanted
credit for the part plus shipping it both ways he said that they would have
to investigate the matter when they received the part back. What
investigation I asked, THE PART DOESN'T FIT, what more do you need to know!
He said that they would have to call the manufacturer to see if it is the
correct part. What manufacturer I asked. The nut manufacturer he says.
WHAT THE HELL does it matter what the manufacturer says! If your catalogs
are wrong about what a Banshee nut will fit that is your problem not mine.
For your information I have installed a Lonestar RAPTOR extended axle and
the stock axle nuts fit it just fine, so that leaves me wonder how you guys
have sold so many of these RAD LOCKS to Raptor owners with no complaints, as
your Customer Service Rep. was trying to tell me.

Does your moron of a Customer Service Rep. think that I would waste my time
and money to call him to complain about a nut that fits? Does he think that
I am so stupid that I can't install an axle nut? Does he think that I would
cancel my vacation and return a part that fits?

To shorten your investigation and to get my money returned sooner I have
enclosed one of the axle nuts from my ATV. You should see immediately that
the threads are much finer on my axle nut than those on the RAD LOCK that
you sent. End of story. Since you sent the wrong part I want credit for
the part and the shipping, $56.90, plus reimbursement for my shipping cost,
$5.32. TOTAL CREDIT = $62.22. Don't even think about charging me a
restocking fee.

Do I need to mention that I am a very dissatisfied customer?

Sincerely,

Hey,

You will not belive this. The other day I ordered from K&K. I have ordered from them before and have been very happy with there service. But lately I when I have called I have delt with someone named Chris not Shawn or Kristy. And I dont ever remeber them having a 20% restocking fee. But when I wanted to return a swingarm that was un opened and brand new. I just wanted a different coating. Chris said it would be a 20% restocking fee. So I kept it. Also had trouble with them crediting a card.

And when my swingarm got here. In the box was a flier for Rec Unlimited.
So if anyone knows what is up let me know. Because I love to deal with K&K and would like to continue to.

Chris

I also have had a bad experience with recreation unlimited. I ordered a rad racing tapered bearing carrier for my 84 atc 250r. I destroyed the bearings within 2 weeks. So i called them up and ordered new bearings. I told the guy that there was a difference between the years and he didn't sound very inthusiastic about being at work and said okay. So i got my bearings about a week later and they were the wrong ones. So i called them up and got the same guy with the "i don't care about my job or the customer attitude" and told him what the deal was. I then had to send them back and pay for shipping. Then got the correct bearings about a week later. Last time i do business with them.

Just a friendly word of advise. Make sure you use a credit card from a bank with a good dispute policy. I don't know how many things I have ordered on the internet that I had problems with. When I have problems I dispute the transaction on the credit card. Screw the merchants policies. If you are not getting the product you ordered or it is defective the merchant should take resposibility. I they won't listen to you after the chargeback hits their account then enjoy the "Free" and "Useless" part!
