How to convert an ATV into a snowmobile?
#2
There is a kit from Snowtrax (I think that's the name). From what I hear you need a powerful ATV to run this kit since the snow and tracks suck up a LOT of HP. The designer of this system uses a quadzilla if that tells you anything.
In all honesty, I don't believe quads and deep snow are a good combination.

I have zero experience with ATVs. How many HP does a quadzilla have?
I have a Polaris Sportsman 4X4 - will it be strong enough?
And why do you think is a quad not good in deep snow? Too heavy and not enough power?
I thought about the problem that a track sucks alot of HP, but they designed the wheels a little smaller than the originals, that may help .
A snowmobile costs 23 K over here, so I am checking out a way to have fun in snow as well than in the dirt....
Any suggestions?
