I had to figure out a way to transport a Sp 500 (700lbs) and a Warrior (?). The reason is because I just bought a used 35' tandem axle camper. Anyhow instead of paying close to a grand for a rack to go across my 01 F250 I figured I would build one.

Would a 73" piece of 5" channel aluminum support the Sp500? if not then how wide wuld it have to be?

Thanks in Advance

Go to the search section, rubiconbob has a all aluminum hauler bolted to the bed of his truck for hauling 2 quads. You can find the wed site of the builders to see what alum they used to build it.If that doesn't work let me know I will try to get a hold of him.Hope this helps

Without knowing what gauge aluminum you have and how you plan to construct the platform, anything we could tell you would be nothing more than a guess. More information would help!
