Loading my quad into my truck
#1
I have a 2002 Big Bear 4x4 and a GMC Sonoma which is just like an s10. I have trouble fitting my quad in the back of my truck, because i also have a tool box back there to. I have problems with the width because it is too wide to set in my fender wells but is too narrow to fit onto my fender wells, my length is ok.

Get a sheet of 3/4" ply and some 2 x 6's and build a platform that will raise your quad over the whell wells. Make it about 12" high and it won't adversely effect your center of gravity; plus you can store all your gear underneath when you get back. Just a thought. A trailer is your best bet, but this might cost you $20.

I had the same prob with 400i and toyota.
Low tech solution till trailer:
I liberated 2 potting soil (5#? 18x24in?) bags from my wife and laid them along each fender well to help roll tires up over wells without grinding the wheels between the wells. Make a heavy duty sand bag to avoid tearing. It worked well this weekend while load/unloading repeatedly while chasing boar hogs.
FYI to keep from running through your back window, use a couple of 6 inch diam logs or 4x6 posts stacked two high to stop the wheels.
Hope it helps.
