My electrical knowledge I must say is lacking but I have been looking at different winch installation methods. Several people have used the accessory socket to power their winchs. The socket is rated at 10 amps but depending on loads I see that a winch can draw from 15 to 188 amps. How does this work without constantly blowing fuses or at least having poor winch performance? Thanks

I think they are using it to engage the solenoid which is connected
directly to battery. The power is then fed thru the manual switch or
a switching soleniod (Warn A2500). Hope this explaination helps.
