I was wondering what kind of paint to use when painting the engine.. I want to paint the side cases, center case, head and the valve case.. Can I use regular paint for metal, Or do I need a Heat resistant paint ?? I used the heat resistant paint on my exhaust.. It held up for maybe 5 min.
I have a 300ex.. Any help would be of great help.. Powder coating is not an option. Too much money !!

Thanks
Jason

Use a good quality high heat paint and you will have no problems at all. If you live near a bodyshop paint dealer they can usualy get you whatever color you want mixed in highheat

If you use a good aresol high heat paint(1500 degrees). After putting on several coats, Bake the Exhaust in the oven at 400 degree's for 2 hours. Then it will last ALOT longer.

I've always used VHT Automobile Engine Paint. I've never had any problems with it except that it doesn't last long on the side cases where my boots rub it.

Short of powder coating, no other paint will stay there either.
