I was wondering if any of you out there had ever shipped an ATV. If so what company would you recommend, and what is the procedure? Do they create it up for you and everything, and if not where do you get a crate. Also approximately how much does it cost to ship an ATV half way across the US (It’s a ATC 350x, only about 310 lbs)? I have never shipped an ATV, and I am not quite sure where to start. Any info would be greatly appreciated and specific names and numbers of reputable company’s would be a great help!!!
Thanks!

Look in the yellow pages under trucking or shipping, give any one of them a call. They will give you all the info you need.

I agree w/housdog,but will add that when I inquired,You had to make a crate,no fluids in machine. From Pa. to California I got 3 quotes::350$/450$/1000$ (one way) so shop around!
good luck

Go to you local dealer and get a metal crate---its more like a cage. Tie or bind the quad down to it real good. No wood or hardwork is involved, just wrap it with visqueen or something, or even a few blankets. Contact Consolidated Freight....I think they are CF.com, they have terminals nation wide. You can ship a quad with them CHEAPER than with anyone else I could find, and I called them all. As long as the bike is secure in something they can pick up with a fork truck, they are happy. Also, you can save a TON if you bring the bike to the terminal, and if the reciever picks it up at his or her local terminal. I shipped a bike from Florida to Minnesota for 315$.

I have before with A-1 Auto Transport and I was happy with them. I'd post a link to them but I think that's against the rules. Basically, they're striaghtforward, know their stuff and will happily tell you the cost (estimate of course) up front. Would definitely use them again.
