What, no quads in the new ESPN 'X' movie? Bullsh!t

maybe the reason is because they did all the filming at the X Games. quads arnt "Extreme" or "Sic" enough to be in the X Games. but if it were up to me they would have a freestyle event right with the dirt bikes.

I did see a preview of the new Scoobydoo movie, where they show a brief shot of Scooby on a black Bomb. That's the second flick (Tomb Raider being the first) with a DS in it. I can't decide whether to be happy or insulted that the commie, tree hugging, homosexuals in Hollywood seem to like my bike. I guess the Bomb is still the ultimate "bastard child" machine from the outcast wing (ATVing) of off-roading.

ms87trx - Here is something to think about.
Look at what the guys on the motocross bikes are doing for tricks. Now look at what the guys (mainly Creech) are doing on quads. Is there really any comparison? No. So if quads were allowed to compete in a freestyle event in the X games, who do you think most people would watch? The bikes. Right now the biggest trick is a Superman on a quad. How much of an old hat is that with the bikes?
ESPN cares about ratings. The more people that watch the shows, the more profit they make. While on this forum (and other quad forums) the majority of people want to see quad freestyle or quad racing on ESPN, I am do not think it will happen. Supercross is just now getting prime viewing slots on ESPN2, so quads are a lot further away from making the TV scene.
I saw the Ultimate X movie (sneak preview last week) and I thought ESPN did a great job with the show. Sure, I could not care about the skateboarding and care very little about the BMX. But I was still impressed with the flips those guys on the BMX bikes did.
My hats off to ESPN for putting on the X games period. Not to mention a motion picture of that quality. And believe me, if this Ultimate X movie draws enough people, there will be more of them made in the future.

I agree with Lasher 100%. Quad freestyle right now is straight-up lame! You can't tell me these pro quad racers don't have the skills to pull off double-handed seatgrabs and real cordovas, and even backflips can be done on quads. Jim Rippey did a backflip on a snowmobile, a longer and heavier machine than a quad!
Don't get me wrong... I love quad racing. And I respect what some of these pros are doing as far as racing goes... but freestyle needs improvement badly before we can even discuss quads making it in the X-Games or an ESPN film.
