Default Climbing Nasty Hills in Reverse!!!

A friend of mine has an interesting technique for the really nasty stuff. If there is a hill he thinks he might not make, he climbs it backwards!!! That way, if he has to abort the climb, HE IS ALREADY POINTED DOWN HILL. He just shifts out of reverse, and rides back down the hill. It eliminates rolling down backward or having to turn the bike around in the middle of the hill. I have seen him climb some ridiculous stuff this way, and it works great for him.

the reason they are climbing in reverse(and may not know it) is that reverse gear is much lower, making the quad more like a rock crawler, if you know what I mean... Ive climbed many hills in reverse that I could not make going forward.
