Good info guys. 4wheel is right, those crate motor are sweet and a 600cfm carb is too small for perfomance. As for the 700r trans, I know that "ART CARR" years ago built a 700r for a class A motorhome with a 454 and it held up fine. But the small block revs higher IE faster rotating mass. The upgrades for the 700r trans have come a long way. With the help of ART I ran one in my 65 C10,396ci pushing almost 475 hp for 8 years. Cam, intake and Dist were all setup for high rpm.
