I spray myself off (get sprayed off) at the carwash, If i get real muddy.

It saves on the washing machine.

hose it off first with the garden hose before washing and do it 2 times some. If real bad go to the laundry mat instead of the washing machine at home.

Pressure washer! At the car wash, those spring loaded floor mat clips work great for holding muddy clothes. At home, I just blast them them on the driveway. Boots are best cleaned while on your feet, it's easier to get all the cracks and your socks don't get wet from standing on the wet ground:-)
