Just wondering what other members do for atv insurance. I contacted the insurance agency listed on this web site about insuring my 98 Laeger Pro Trax and they responded that they "couldn't insure such a vehicle". I don't think home owners covers theft or fire which is what I am looking for. Any thoughts?

I live in Pa. and insured my 2000 Honda Rancher through State Farm. I got full coverage on it: $100 deductable, fire, theft, medical and liability. It came to about $200 / year. My agent stated that the ATV was not be covered under my existing homeowners plan if it was lost in a fire, damaged in a accident, or stolen.

Basic liability only coverage was only about $50 / year. But considering what can happen to the ATV (Theft, accident while trailering or riding) the peace of mind I feel is worth it.

I didn't shop around, so you may find a better price. You might have better luck with the agent that you have your auto or home policy with. Best of luck

I also insured 2-2000 AC 500 Auto's through State Farm. Full coverage, covers everything including theft, cost me $340 for both of them, per year. Not bad, considering what can happen.

I have both of mine insured through Progressive. Full coverage with 500.00 deductable. 84/yr for the Sportsman and 94/yr for the Xplorer.

Greetings,

I shopped around and Allstate had the best deal. If I kept the ATV at home, it would have been covered under home owners but since I store it at our farm I needed a second policy. Start with your current home owners insurance company and see what they say.
