I cant get pics unless I bring it to work again. But, I used linkage rod for the shifter, easy really. The throttle is just a cable setup. My friend is going to make one as well, he plans on using cables for the shifter linkage. Says it will be better, but my linkage setup works plenty good the way I see it.
I cut and remounted the foot-shifter straight-up and down( or close to it) and ran a small piece of linkage back to a bearing mounted rod, that basically transferrs it to the right side of the buggy, so the shifter is on the right-hand side. If I can get more pics I will post them

Hmm.. wonder how your friend is gonna use a cable to shift?? The only way I have seen and come up with, is like you said. A solid mount linkage that I push forward or pull back to shift. Im looking more into snow mobile motors now, so I dont have to shift. The clutching and shifting and driving might be pretty hard for me at times.. lol a big 500- 1200 cc rotax would do fine..hehehe Ive seen some damn fast light mini's with 250's that are smokin.. but I want something that will pull a wheelie and ride it a mile.
Thanks for the answers... something like that takes a lot of time to build, and trial and error. Im just trying to get a bunch of whoops and errors outta the way before I start.

He supposedly saw that the actual minirails use cable linkage to shift, I dunno. I just designed the frame first, made sure it was all good, The rest will fall into place with a little creativity
I just started last night switching to a 300ex engine on my buggy. I just need to mount the exhaust and a few minor things and I'll be able to test it out tonight after I get outta work. I think it'll be alot better, more torque I would think.

well I got the 300ex powerplant on it and going. Man, it is fun now Loads more low end grunt. The gearing is a bit on the low side, I have a 40 rear sprocket, need about a 36-37. It just feels alot more "racy" now, I never was too hard on the other engine- mostly because of the bad sprocket, but now I can go pull holeshots on the road and run though the gears hard If I can get some reverse linkage lined up it'll be ready to take out for the weekend- all I'll need then is a rack to hold a cooler.
