Mr. Turbo may have switched from the aerodyne shown to a garrett. http://www.mrturbo.com/kit/raptor.html

See turbo gallery http://www.hiper-technology.com/about.htm

I saw some posts about KMS turbo kits.

hey thanks alot. Heard about the bike. Glad your ok. Are you getting a new frame and selling it?
My dealer will not have any for about 3 weeks. So I could still get any of them. What do you think is better for a turbo drag race setup? I heard you know your stuff with turbos.
Thanks for any help.

The frame survived, just a lot of other things were damaged.
What do you want to do with the ATV?
Drag race only? 300 feet? 1/4 mile?
Override transmission?
High boost and methanol?
The banshee will make more power and can be made very lightweight. It's cheaper to build a fast 2-stroke.
The banshees typically run aerocharger turbos - they don't require adding an oil pump. But aerodyne has had problems the past 1.5 years or so. They were closed for a while. Rebuilding turbos can be delayed and it can be hard to get a new turbo at times. I think there are a few people running a different turbo. In my experience, aerochargers will need to be rebuilt more often than you might think. Garrett is one of the most reliable turbos you can buy.
I don't know all the weak links of a Raptor but there are some, so ask the Raptor guys who built their motors what the weak links were.
If someone like A&S Racing sets up the banshee motor for the turbo it should be reliable (for a 2-stroke) depending on how far you push boost. It may need a lot of tuning to keep it running right.

I want to run 20 to 25 psi. I can get the turbos for a pretty good deal. I really want to 1/8 mile
and 1/4 also. What fuel are you using with the turbo? Do you drag yours? Some of the Raptor
guys have told me the trans is weak. But, I keep hearing that the 4-stroke's are more
reliable. What do you think?
btw- thanks on the help

It has been my experience, when trying to run 20-25psi using an aerocharger 90/200 on the DS650, the turbo would overspin and have to be rebuilt VERY frequently. The banshee guys might be having better luck with reliability, but I think they runa 101/250 now. I might re-configure the 90/200 to a 101/200 to see if it is more reliable.
A garrett GT15 can handle 20-25psi. It has coolant passages to prevent cooking the oil and it uses the engine oil for lubrication/cooling.
The aerochargers have no cooling other than the ambient air flow entering the compressor where the bearing is located. The oil is self contained. There is no coolant passage.
1/8 or 1/4 should work good with a turbo, but for a 300 foot race it is more critcal to have a fast launch which depends on how good the turbo setup is.
I run alcohol to cool the engine and act as an intercooler. I have removed the intercooler to get the fastest response out of the turbo.
A 4-stroke may be more reliable than a 2-stroke regardless of a turbo, but you won't get the power out of a DS or Raptor that you get out of a banshee, plus the banshee can be much lighter and parts are cheaper. FYI, you can build a banshee motor to make well over 100HP without a turbo.

HOLY CRAP i just saw a turbo banshee from hiper with 204 RWHP! thats insane It said it was 500cc is that motor a single cylnder? I would think so and that just makes it even more Insane 204 hp from one cylinder how the heck does the chain still hold up to that kind of power. my head i about to explode thinking of how crazy that banshee is!
