You should check around for shop that make the oil filter plate with the hose barbs coming out. I used an old street bike oil cooler and bought a plate from James Lucky it was $40. It works great and i saved alot of money than buying the complete kit.

Thanks I'll check there ad for the plate .But how does the oil go though the cooler ,What i mean is ,is the stock oil pump strong enough to bring it through? And will the extra oil in the cooler flow back and over fill the case? Oh and can I mount a fan on it .

I have this mod done on 2 bikes an 87 250x and a 96 TC405ex Tom Carlson has these installed on all the motors he builds. I have had no problems with the oil pump. It is strong enough to push up to the oil cooler its only 6-8 inches away. I Alos have a 99 Mojave they have fans on the raditor but my fan stopped working. I wouldnt reccommend a fan they will eventually corrode and stop working

Try looking in the back of the July issue of DirtWheels and look for the advertisment in the classified section for DirtMods. They make an oil cooler that requires no drilling or tapping. If I am not mistaken I think the kit will run you about $320. Kind of expensive but not a bad investment I was thinking of purchasing one but around here it doesn't get up in the 90's for long.

Check it out.

http://homepages.ihug.co.nz/~crainic/Powroll_grunt.htm

(after viewing click on the "home" button at the bottom of the page and scroll down to "keeping it cool" for more info)

Here's how I mounted my oil cooler and stainless steel braided lines. Works great with my built 400cc motor.

The cooler from a street cycle is mounted vertically between the frame members right above my steering dampner. The oil pump cover is from a big-bear.

Good luck on your project.

i have an oil cooler from a 400ex(I know its a honda part but it work and it wasn't that expensive)mounted between my front frame rails. I had to buy the short oil lines on the ex also to connet to it because honda has a wierd way of doing things. then i used the oil filter pieces off a kodiak and had lines made for it. a friend used the dirt mods kit and it uses the same filter pieces but cheap hoses and cooler. After a full season of hard woods racing it has held up great. what ever way u do it, it is something that is worth the trouble
