Rancher 4x4 Upgrades
#1
I just bought a 00 Rancher ES 4X4 I love it so far, but I am one who likes to make a good thing better. What is everyones opinion on the following mods for my new toy?
Goodyear Mud Runners 25" ( stock tires are 24" )
KN air filter as soon as they make one for it.
Warn winch 2000 or 2500???
SuperTrapp Exhaust
Should I run synthetic oil? Is it worth the price?
Please give any experience you guys have had with the mods I have mentioned. Or any that I have not that you feel may fit my quad well.
I ride mostly in farm country so fields are common. I find mud for play purposes. Like to hunt and fish. Always putting up or tearing down a fence. Just to give some insight to my needs.
Thanks

I have the same machine. Bought it the first week in Nov. I have 25"x9" Mudrunners on the front and 25"x10" on the back. They work great. Haven't had to use my winch since the upgrade. Believe me I have tried to get it stuck. Water to the top of the seat. Kneeling on the seat with my feet on the back rack I got wet knees. Go love the ES when in water and mud that deep.
The tires are heavier and you will notice this when accelerating in 2,3, or 4th gear. I am considering the Highlifter performance kit.
Another Forum member has installed it and says it returned the power he lost from his larger tires(26").
Good Luck and Happy Trails
You will not be disappointed with the Mudrunners.

Almost identical thing in my lil world. I do the same kind of riding here. Bought the last '03 Rancher 4x4 with the manual shift on the lot. The ES is nice but lot's of electrical things in the shift path make me nervous.
I'm looking at either mudlites or blackwaters (26" if I can find em), filter, a better exhaust (not loud), small lift, and most importantly.....a good cupholder.
What's your opinion on the lift? Read about CV troubles with them.
Oh yeah, where can I find a good cupholder?
