thumb throttle?...or twist throttle?

i'm thinking of adding an extension onto my thumb throttle. ne body done this? i figure that it will make it easier to hold it WOT and on right hand turns i won't have to use my forefinger. ne body have experince with this?

in my experience, i did not like the throttle extender, mostly because it just is an inconvenience for when you are so used to a normal thumb. It works ok, if you want it, they are cheap, and can take it off whenever you want.

johnny splat: i don't know about ur quad, but on my 400EX and my 300EX if i'm making a sharp right hand turn (handlebars are turned all the way to the right) and i'm leaning into it a lot, then my thumb will not reach the throttle, so i have to use my forefinger. i grab the throttle WOT from the front of the quad.

oh... well my bike cant make sharp turns, lol. so i guess that explains why i didnt know what youre talking about. but i do now, and i do the same thing with my bike sometimes when going up a long dune, cause its hard to use your thumb while youre standing up.

fyour just trail riding or flattrack racing the twist would be fine mx or rough terrian riding i would stick to the thumb. i switch to a twist on my 250r in 1990 first race out with it i hit the whoops got a little sideways & rolled the throttle don't remember much that happened after that except for waking up 32hrs later in the hospital with a concussion, broken leg, broken collar bone, & broken arm. needless to say when i finally got home the first thing i did was threw away the twist & put the thumb back on. if your new to riding stick with the thumb so you dont end up like i did

Iam waiting to get mine back out of the shop to try my new twist throttle. I hate the thumb, I like to have my whole hand on the grip. Dirt bikes dont have thumbs! That's all I ever had in the past.
