Default Golf Cart project 1000cc?

my newest project involves an old golf cart from the 80's im either lift it or lower it but i know i want it to haul so iam searching for an engine, if anyone could help that would be cool. anyway if i lower it i want to extend the frame so i can sit close to the floor for better aerodynamics. the body is pretty much gone so i plan on building a new pop rivited aluminum shell i was thinking three scoops for the engine for air. also the rear end will have to be changed to a live axle so it can use a sprocket and have brakes. if any one has any comments or ideas or wants to sell or trade an engine help would be appreciated.

Vic

It's a 617 rotax, out of a Bom.

It's is my nephew's, it's in storage now, I get a pic when I can, he had to go with two jax shafts to get gearing right.

What are you going to do with yours?

most of the newer golf carts have torque converters. You could maybe use the secondary cluch if u use a snowmobile engine

I was just on ebay and got a fzr 600 yamaha engine for the golf cart project yes i cant wait it will be sweet. it has around 75 hp so that should be adequate. i think i might work on putting an atv whole rear end in it also the engine will be mounted on a tray with the rear end so there will be no chain play what do you all think this will do? a 600 4 cylinder should get with it, thats just my opinion.
