scrambler 500 keep up with kfx700

Just telling it the way it is. Nothing against polaris. Have dealer friends that sell both. All Im saying is your fighting a losing battle when you have to mod a machine to keep up with a stock machine. As far as the resale part goes polaris resale is the worst, not just atv,sleds,jet-ski,all have the lowest resale among the 4-5 manufacture's.

well actually i work my dad. We sell polaris atvs. The quads they have are competitive in there classes. But polaris is always behind the 8ball and takes forever to put out there quad. But no quad compares to the sportsman 700 in its class. It is the best, and is number one sold quad in the United States. I am serious to, it was put out by powersports magazine. The polaris predator was #1 in its class now its the 450 yamaha. The scrambler is the one behind, when you think that kawasaki holds 7% of the market and has a automatic 700 sport quad. Polaris holds 26% of the market,(2nd behind honda at 27) and they onlyy have a 500.
However i dont think its pathetic you have to mod your atv to keep up with stock ones.

Well, lets take alook at this for a second. A 500cc single VS a 700cc twin. HMMMMM, I think the V would have an advantage in the power department. So how is it pathetic to have to mod the 500 to stay with a more powerful 700??? MrZeeedler, I would look into the FST 600 kit. It is a torque monster. It would help to if you want to add NOS later on. The HPD exhaust is a good start too, as well as the TEAM clutch. I have read that the V only puts about 35HP at the wheels with duels and jets. I dont know what that translates to at the crank. The scram puts out 39hp at the crank.

actually it is around 38 to 39Hp with duals. BY the way i think you should listen to Force cause he is right. I am not saying that the v is the best thing out there but i am for sure that no scrambler is going to bet a v in anything. you put all that on and all he would have to do is prolly put half the price in to his and still smoke you bad. Just do what Force says and sell it and buy a V you wont regret it.

I even think, know the 400 and 450 atvs that are out will eat up that big 500 scram. The scram is very dated and sales for it are showing.I think polaris will come out with a new machine because they know they have a old outdated machine. My advice would be not to stick any money in scram, just update to a different machine.

id definently do some clutching mods. id also get a pipe and k&n air filter with a modedair box. i think its hpd or hot seat that has the kit for polarises. then it should be able to keep up. it goes what 65 stock and the vforce goes 70or so so i think those mods alone should make it able to atleast keep up if not beat a vforce
