Yamaha R1 engine in a banshee frame

NO.
What you gain in HP, you will loose in wieght. A good running 500cc banshe will have 120HP. and way around 90lbs. The R1 engine will produce around 135(stock) and weighs around 175lbs(est.) so you will loose the HP/wieght ratio.

Ofcorse the R1 engines can be made to produce HUGE HP numbers (200+ is not difficult). But I believe the "fastest" banshee's in the world(hill shooting) are still based off of the Banshee bottom end. Although the are like bottle rockets, and dont have much of a life span.
