Realistic usage for a modded Banshee
#11
Hey,
I read the article atv connection (atving.com) did on the raptor. In one part, they said that the banshee and raptor in a short drag race were both winning back and forth, and the banshee had the best gate or start from the stop.
So from hearing that, i would put 1000 into your motor, and money into your chassis, say it comes to like 2000 total, motor and chassis, YOU beat spending however much the raptor is, 6000 or 7000?? whatever and then having to spend another 1000? on it to make it beat stock/slightly modded banshee's, when you can just put into the banshee 1/3 1/4 of the 6000 - 7000 and have a banshee that can kill any raptor, think about it. get a 2 into 1 carb, 2 into 1 pipe, 18" tires if your terrain isnt ruff, lower your gearing , and do some engine work, porting and whatever else, and you will have lots of torque for the woods.
i have a 95 banshee

You could very well be right. However, I think that the so called "reveiw" is a bunch of biased bull.
There is a big thread going on it at http://forums.atvconnection.com/thre...B=1&Tid=101718

i know the raptor will be better in the woods than a stock banshee. alot better. and no more fouled plugs, mixing gas, and waiting for the power band to kick in when you are need of it fast. but if you put money into the banshee, you are going to have a very quick/snappy machine for the woods, as long as you buy the right parts specifically for low end grunt, but you will still have to worry about mixing gas and fouled plugs. but i think mixing gas and fouling plugs is worth all that power.

Where do you guys get this fouling plug B.S.? I have the same plugs in my Banshee from when I bought it new two years ago. I even added a few mods to it and also have ridden from below sea level up to 1500 feet without changing jetting. You guys must not know anything about jetting or riding.
