Default Warrior Gearing...

I find my 12/40 gearing to be ok .. decent top speed (around 63mph) and pretty good accelleration. I'm stepping down again this week tho to 12/42 .. my sprocket just arrived today so I'm hoping to get it on tomorrow or thursday !!! Yay!! My top speed then should still be close to 60 or just a tad less, and my torque should increase nicely. I can lift the front end easily in 1st, 2nd and 3rd right now . just a touch more effort for 4th .. I'm hoping the 42 will make the difference

I notice in your mods list you have 13T front sprocket .. that's the stock for a Warrior .. 13/40.

I have a 14 on the front and have a 45 p jet and 150 main jet. I'm going to a 15 T. front as soon as it comes in and I also run 190 Douglas 8 in wheel with turf tamers on. when I get it in and try it I'll let you know how it work. I race Mx and do light woods. the 14 T has plenty of power so I don't think that a 15 will hurt any but more top is nice for racing

.I got the 15 t and put in on. It still has plenty of power and when I got on the road it move a lot faster. I didn't think that just one tooth would make that much dif. but it did. but that just my opinion

Stock is 13/40. 1 up on the front is equal to 3 down on the rear and vice versa.

After the 435 kit I ran a 14/39 for the woods and 13/40 for the dunes since it still wouldn't pull 6th with the 14.

Ice racing depended on track length 13/39 for long and 13/42 for short. Occationally used stock 13/40. When running roundy rounds I prefered to change the rears to get a more precise gearing and to adjust your power to the speeds you are using it.

I think you would be happy with a cam and piston, I was!

When it was new I put a pipe and K&N on, it would beat a stock one by a bike length or 2 but really didn't feel any faster.

The next year I put in a cam (WB woods), piston (10.5 ? and .040 over), valve springs, had the head ported and polished, had the carb bored to 37mm and the fly wheel lightened. The performance increase was great it felt a lot faster and would easily walk away from stock or piped Warriors. In my opinion the biggest bang for the buck very happy.

I rode it this way for several years now I started to upgrading the suspension little by little. Eventually I wanted more performance and went for the 435 kit from FST.

While the kit did add more performance on top off what I had already done overall I was not impressed. It changed the charactoristics of the power mostly. It made more torque and hp but didn't rev as quickly and felt like it fell off quicker on the top end comparatively.

Had I bored and stroked it prior to doing all the other things I might have felt differently about it.

By this time I was married with children and my job didn't allow as much time for racing. I was told to slow down and become a responsible adult now so I never actually raced the 435 and sold it soon after. HTH

Thanks a lot I get married in 3 months and already have a child. So a house, truck, child, bike, and a wed. is not cheap. So trying to get best upgrade without paying around 2 grand or more. you no what I mean. So I think that I should just get the cam and piston. thanks again Tony.

Morpheous did you try the 14 what did you think
