Posted pics of Blaster project

I just added pics to My Page of the 91 Blaster I picked up for $200.
I started tearing it down last night and have the motor out and about the only thing left on the frame to do is remove all the suspension. I'm taking pics at each stage along the way and hope to put up a website in the future detailing the project. As much as I'd like to really trick it out in the re-build.... my wife is determined to take a role in the decisions since it's going to be "her quad" and she want's it done cheaply - oh, well - I'll still sneak some goodies in along the way. Yeah, it's gonna take some work. I've got it torn down to the frame now - only thing left on the frame are a few of the electrical components. It's got some pretty good rust spots, mostly on the foot pegs and a-arms. I'm taking it down to my brothers this weekend to try to sand blast it - we'll see how that goes. Really, it's not as bad as I originally thought. I need to replace the wiring harness, shocks, tie rods, bumper, brake pads, clutch and brake levers, plastic, wheels/tires.... Ebay will definitely be my best friend through this project. The motor seems pretty tight and the piston looks good from what I can tell through the exhaust port. Still going to pull the head off and take a better look. Going to block off the oil injection and go pre-mix. Not really looking to go performance on it - but want it to run good in the end. Figure if the piston does need replaced it'll get a little overbore, reeds and pipe - otherwise it'll stay stock for now. My biggest goal is to just clean the thing up and make it reliable. The funniest thing I found is the spindles were installed on the wrong sides upside down. I can't get the lower a-arm to seperate from the spindle and multiple pics in the maint. manual show the things were on incorrectly. I can only assume someone had it apart before - the front shocks don't look like the originals either, almost like they were stock from another bike but not a blaster. I'll try to get some more pics up this weekend, showing the pile it has become in the corner of the garage....
