why does everyone argue about which is better? they both have different purposes. RIght now I own a 2 stroke My next bike will be a ds650 or a yfz or something like that. Probably a four stroke. I want something with electric start and easy to ride to just go for a casual ride but when I want to go fast or race I will come back for my 2 stroke cuz it would cost thousands to make a four stroke close to as fast as my 2 stroke.

i have a honda trx250x I can put around on. Im not talking just putting around but a four stroke with enough power to still have fun. My 250x wont take me up the hills that a ds raptor or yfz450 will. Im talking a four stroke I can still do most anything on but easy to ride or throw the wife on the back and go for a shorter ride. She cant hardly hang on if I take her on my two stroke. HEll I can barely hold on for that matter

a 400ex would be great for that then..
I love riding my ex...its awesome all around, with enough power to have fun..plus the accel. delivery is totally smooth..its a great bike to have.
Its the only bike my girlfriend will ride with me on lol...If you want the big motor, go for the DS..The YFZ has a little bit of a powerband to it, and isn't exactly comfortable..So its not exactly the best cruising bike

i have rode a 400ex that had a pipe and the ignition changed and I was not impressed way to slow for me. Plus they will not climb the larger dunes with me on them. A raptor and ds wont either for that matter but for those ill jump on my two stroke i guess

i think the best looking quad ever made is the honda 250R. i like 2 and 4 strokes, both can be made fast, 4 strokes have torque and hp, 2 strokes have hp and no torque. stock vs stock the 450R is better than the 250R, not saying the 250R is a slacker, 250R's are bad @$$! the main reason i like 4 strokes is because i can ride and ride and ride, with a 2 stroke you have to work on them and work on em and rebuild em and so on. an old 2 stroke may be cheaper to buy but it cost a lot more to keep them running.

A 2-stroke quad forces the rider to be more aggressive and in turn makes them a better rider. You have to constantly shift gears and stay in the power band. On a 4 stroke you can relax a little and let the powerband push you around. If you take someone off of a 4 stroke who has never ridden a 2 stroke and put them on something like a 250R they will take a while to adjust to the power characteristics. But if you take someone off a 2 stroke who has never ridden a 4 stroke and put them on something like a 450R they will think they're riding a Caddilac!!
