4-stroke's suck!!

decent post, but no reason to be ill because you agree with certain parts of my response.
I want a raise of hands who on this board actively looks in the photo-ad for a 65 chrysler new yorker. Anybody? Put your hand down cain...now lets raise our hands and who actively looks for a mind 68-69 camaro, or a mint 58 chevy? It is at this point hundreds of people raise their hands.
Point of my sarcasm is that you can say that an old car such as a 65 new yorker is extinct but its because the enthusiasts that pursue that car are far and few IMO, whilst you take the large body of active chevy owners from the pre 71 era and you'll find a sea full of mint chevy's and you'd think they were never discontinued. Much like the 2-strokes will be, go ahead and ban them but that wont stop them 30 years later from looking as good and as fast as ever. History doesnt lie.
If i could join a club that allowed me to run a motor twice in displacement WITH FACTORY support id jump on a 4-stroke too. No reason to depleat my wallet when the factory will back me with new technology and all the sponsorship i need. Nuff said.

I used the Chrysler as an example because I own one in mint condition with a 440. Even using the camaro or corevette there are some out there but not many and the ones in great condition belong to old men that shine them up and let them sit. Is that how you're going to ramble on about how the 2-stroke is going to "survive"? Regardless of your preference on liking 2 over 4 stroke, You still avoid the fact that the 2 stroke is going to be banned (production) and they are only going to become more and more rare through theft, wrecks, increase in maintenance cost, etc. I want you to print this post and pt it in a time capsule to open in 30 years just so you can read my profetic knowledge. You and I can go back and forth (like we have) without one convincing the other so it's useless. Just remember me when (in the years to come) it becomes harder to find the parts you need/want and you see less and less 2 strokes running around in great shape. I'm sure the dinosaurs would have thought they would have been around in their future too. 2 strokes are soon to be on the endangered species list only to be moved to the extinct list.

Read this statement over and over again. Pin it up behind your computer screen if you have to. But in no way am i denying the ban of 2-stroke quads.
"One day they will be banned from PRODUCTION. But they will arguably never be banned from riding."
Why doesnt this ban bother me? Because the 250r hasnt been made in 15 years and there are still a ton of them out there. And the banshee has been made for 12 years longer then the 250r and there are so many in existance that you will NEVER get rid of them. Fact given, point proved.
You used your caddie metaphore because you notice nobody has them and you do. If you are trying to brag or whatever the case may be you'd understand that there are hundreds of thousands of people with 2-strokes.
BTW, not every 21y/o kid that has a camaro has to go out and thrash it. There are responsible people out there other then "old people".
Lastly, honda has produced 250r parts from the factory for the past 15 years for their D/C'ed machine. They wont stop because of the ban because it still doesnt affect their current 2-stroke quad line (which is none!).
UNDERSTAND THIS!

Because enviromentalists have made enough noise to convince those in power to ban 2-strokes due to pollution. My opinions have much changed since the beginning of this thread. I'm even considering buying an old 250R or a banshee and making myself a scary fast little stroker...I have sold my warrior and 200sx for about 4500 total...I think its a decent start. If you want to go crazy fast with minimal spending, go buy a 2 stroke. If you want more all purpose go with a 4-stroke. I am happy to say that the new 450's are finding a happy medium within speed and all purpose. Of course my YFZ will never be up to par with a stroker banshee, but 4-strokes are getting better. Manufacturers have no choise but to raise the bar on 4-strokes, especially now that the fate of 2-strokes is looking a little grim. Either way, there's always gonna be someone faster than the next guy...I would never take my honda 400ex or a my stock YFZ to an open class drag race...then again, I would never take a banshee to race professional motocross...when comparing 2 strokes to 4 strokes, that's like comparing a drag hayabusa to a corvette...made fore 2 different things. People need to start understanding that.

I think we all understand that a 2-stroke is a drag bike, and a 4-stroke is a rec/mx bike. BUT what most of the people arent understanding is that a 2-stroke (motor) is still a very competitive mx bike.

2 strokes are just too fast for people, so they're going to ban them and let them ride a nice slow 4 stroke so they can eat hamburgers and pie while riding.
That's why I got my V.
Hamburgers and pie.

true...I highly respect the guys that throw strong 2-stroke engines into maneuverable chasis and rip me up on both the track and the sand...it used to **** me off...now I'm more impressed than anything... I think 90% of the people on this thread don't even dislike one vs. the other...its all pride to what they own. You can't really take too much here seriously. People are going to be stupid, and post idiot things. But at the end of the day, I don't think anyone really cares...no matter which one you own...2-stroke or 4-stroke, you bought it to have fun. So do just that

Has anyone taken a look at the number of sales of 4-strokes vs. 2 strokes in the early years of 4-stroke production?
What about sales of 4 strokes today? You can still pick up a Banshee today! Nobody is stopping you. And as this and many other thousands of posts about which is better is almost irrelevant. Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, etc. are companies that are trying to stay in business and they don't care if they produce a 4-stroke as long as it sells! Obviously, research $$ probably were spent on this very same topic. And guess what the conclusion to that was...... no more 2 strokes.
Huh, that is funny, the companies who make the 2 strokes are not going to produce them here because they are going to be to expensive, why don't you buy a 2-stroke elsewhere if you think that a 4-stroke is so bad.
65 Chrysler New Yorker.... That is one among many hundreds of makes in this world. Someone's trash is another man's treasure! I see where your going, the Banshee will be a collector in many peoples minds. And a stock Banshee will be a rare find like a 65 Chrysler New Yorker.... I might be able to see that.....
