Rich,

For more power I recomend the HMF slip on and a K&N with the proper jetting. It helps a lot.

I think the 424 is the best investment I put on my wolvey. It turns it into a totally different machine it's so much more fun to drive now. It only took me about an hour to install it with basic tools.

A slip on is easy to install. You just have to loosen a clamp and 2 bolts on the stock muffler and slide the new one on. I paid $209 for mine from HMF. I'm very pleased with the power increase. I don't know anything about the other pipe you spoke of. Maybe someone else has heard of it. I would do the slip on and the K&N. To get more power you have to get more air and gas in AND you have to get it out.

Which HMf do I go with? I want to stay as close to the stock as far as sound goes. Will need the spark arrester cause I do ride on state land. Thanks for all the advise

The HMF Ecoseries is the quietest one that HMF makes, but they don't make it for a wolvey. The regular slip on is supposedly very loud too, that is what kept me from getting it. I just put a Supertrapp IDS2 quiet series on with 7 discs and rejetted and it definitely makes a difference in low and mid-range torque, and is not annoyingly loud, definitely a great investment.

Ganz, what size are your 489XT's and how do you like them? How are they in mud? I am thinking about getting 24x11x12 on the rear and 24x8x12 up front, but don't know if this will slow the bike down too much.

Rock, My XT's are 23-8-12 and 23-10-12. So far I like them. They do pretty well in the mud and have good trail manners. They are far better than the stock tires on a wolvey. I stayed with the stock size because I was concerned about losing low end. They don't weight much more than the stock tires and they are 6ply.

I installed the quad works power kit today took about an hour I used the 144 jet and set the needle at the 3rd groove and added the k and n filter.Thing runs great definetly more power. The one thing that I did notice is when I shift into 5th gear it bogs down it looses power. The kit instructed to seat the mixture screw and then open 21/2 turns, is the a final adj on this screw that needs to be done after the quad warms up .Any ideas fellas
