well i was thinking of doing it instead of getting a cr250 but im thinking it would be a lot less money and alot less of a headache just getting a bike

 

hey dabeechman where did you see the 600 kits for the cr500? I want to build up my 500 this winter for some more power. I havent been able to find much online

 

Give me your email Ill show you detail pics of where and how I mounted the motor. where to gusset and all need hows what whos. yes this bike works good but i would have rather have stuck a cheeta banshee motor in a 250r chasis. 120 hp. I still might build one. not sure might build a sand car next seasion. My 500 quad is putting out aroud 70+ hp on gas. currently. Might use nos this seasion but I doubt it cause I'm still dialing. i was also thinking these big shee motors would be cool to put in a 250r frame to get the best of both worlds, but now with all this sabertooth 510 bb honda talk, forget it!!!! ill wait.

HA, i dont think the sabertooth will run competitively with a cheetah that is built right with a stroke at or above 7mm

 

if you dont have good mechanical skills and dont know how to weld/torch then dont try it.it will be a big headach.

 

Hey bansheeesmoker, I'm reading here you've also built one of these beasts. I've also taken the leap. My wheeler consists of an 86 250R frame and a '92 cr500 motor. I love it!!!!! I couldn't find a lot of information or howto's when I built it, so I just did. I would love to query you and maybe swap information, or if you have some pictures of your wheeler to see if I need to change anything, especially on the gussets, engine placement and such. I've had a crack here and there, but nothing to speak of. And any contacts, if youv'e got them for engine hopups.
As far as vibration, I filled the steering stem with silicone. I stopped a lot of the vibration, It's quite a pleasure to ride.

I'm from Conway, Ar. We usually take a trip to The Little Sahara in Oklahoma twice a year.
Centerville is not to far away. I'd like to come out and watch, but my wheeler is down right now. I'd like to change a few things while it's in the take apart and clean-up stage. That's when I saw this post and had to jump in for some questions and answers.
Maybe when it's done, I'll get with you and we'll see who can get to the end of the strip the fastest!!!!
