cr500 engine in wat frame??
#71
Thank you very much. I was just home on leave 2 weeks ago and got to ride my 250r for the first time. It was fun as hell but a 20year old bike it is and needs more power and suspension. I got the whole cr500 for 1300 bucks. i will sell off the rest of the bike to try and recoupe some of my costs for building this project. How rideable is your r i wnat to ocasionally race motocross and ride trails with it. Is this doable or am i off the deep end. Some of my friends say i am crazy and think i should just go with a 310pv from esr. But that would cost me close to 3k by the end. And not be nearly as cool. SO you by chance know if the 88cr500 is a powervalve. Either way i think that a cr500r would be way more fun. Plus then i would really be able to shut my firends on 450s up.

None of the CR500's had a power valve. Im pretty sure the KX 500 has one. Ive never seen one of those in a quad. That might be cool too.
It should make it pretty easy.
