Default Super Cheap Reliable Speedometer

I had this little speedometer on my bike that I had bought from K-mart. It had been on it for about a week when I got the idea of trying it on my ATV. I actually didnt think it was going to work at first but after I hooked it up to the ATV's front right side tire and put the moniter on my handle bar I tested it. I drove down the road ummmm I mean a trail (I would never ahum ahum ride on the road ) with my grandfather beside me in his truck. His truck speedometer read 40 as the fastest speed I was going and my speedometer read that 39 was the fastest speed so for only about $7.00 I got a speedometer that is accurate within a 1-2 mph differential.

Has anyone else tried this?

i haven't heard anything good about a GPS being accurate for speed. u ever seen a 300EX with a whitebros e-series pipe and K&N filter doing 90mph? well according to this kid's GPS, that's exactly what he did.

GPS is accurate but does has its moments. we did 400mph towing a loaded 19 ft toy box behind a stock expedition through the mountains.

ive found them to be extremely accurate for the most part.
