K&N vs Uni

K&N vs Uni
I am going to get (another) air filter for my Woverine. I was just looking in a atv catalog and I saw that Uni air filters are $23 and K&N are $52. Is K&N worth paying the extra $29. Is there a noticable difference in torque?

it depends on where you ride. k&N filters are great for sand and open areas and UNI filters are good for dusty trails and mud
I dont know if you would notice a differance in torque. I guess it all depends on what you like
I have a K&N on my quad and a UNI on my kx 250. they both work great

K&N vs Uni
I ran K&N for quite a while, but have now gone back to UNI on all my bikes. I just like the security of foam, vs a little piece of gause 1mm thick.
The K&N flows more air, so you would need a rejet. Most gains will be on the top end.
Does the Wolverine have the same ridiculous airbox as the Banshee and Warrior, where the lid holds the air filter in place? If so, get the Pro-Flow adapter (http://www.prodesignracing.com/) and their clamp-on UNI filter.

if you get a k&n ,get an outerwares also .you get it wet ....your in deep s--t i know ,i used to use them and they dont dry too fast![img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-mad.gif[/img] they dont make you go faster they just are reusable,thats why they are on both my STREET VEHICLES. for dirt FOAM is the only way to go,gets wet no prob-wring it out and down the trail.cheap,easy to maintain.i use gas to clean,and foam oil on it (messy,use latex gloves) just my not so humble opinion good luck[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

I'd stick with the UNI or any other oiled foam.
I use K&N on all my street vehicles because they see 100 times less dust than a dirt bike or quad.
What convinced me was that you can SEE through a K&N. I don't mean just light, I mean see what's on the other side!
correctly oiled foam is the best!
