How much clearance should there be between a wisco piston and the cylinder wall. The manual shows .0024-.0026. I recieved my motor from Mission and believe the wrong piston kit was sent the clearance is .020 not .002. its a Banshee motor bored .040 over stock.

Thanks
Dale

All of the banshee cylinders i've bored I have set up at .00225. I think they gave you the wrong piston.

Dale,

Did they measure it metric, or in decimal inches? If it's metric, .020mm would be about .003" in decimal inches.

Just checking!

40 over banshee holes should measure close to 2.559 inches when using Wiseco pistons . The .00225" clearance mentioned earlier is also what I think is correct .

I had measured it with digital caliper and was talking inches. I e-mailed wiseco and recieved the info I needed they said for a stock motor the clearance should be .003" and for a modded motor, i.e. porting, cool head ect. that .0035-.004" was the proper clearance. Its a little above stock clearance due to the differance in the pistons, cast being stock and forged being wiseco. I sent Mission my cylinders and pistons they said they would make it wright. Just keeping me down a little longer is all. Thanks for the replies.
