Default lt80 quad advice needed

Please Please Please can anyone help me. We have bought a Lt80 for my neice for christmas who we dont see that much as she lives too far away. Anyway she has come to stay for a few days and we took her out on the quad and to cut a very long story short the quad ended up in the canal. We got the quad to start up but when you try to accelerate it won't move or drive. Please help me i need URGENT help and advice as she is due to go back home on tuesday 4th jan and we wanted to give her a really good day out before she leaves because she has only spent 5-10 mins on it. She is only 9 and really upset. PLEASE HELP.
A very very speedy reply would be great if possible.

If this thing is a belt drive ( sorry I'm not familiar with the lt80) and I read it right, you need to get the belt dry.

Likewise don't know that much about them myself, but you were right the belt was wet. We've dried it out and my niece had a really good day out today.

Thanks alot
