I have a 98 Polaris Sport 400 that takes a NGK BR8ES spark plug.

I have a 99 Blaster that takes a NGK B8ES spark plug.

They both have the same gap.

What is the difference between the two and can I use either in both ATV's? I hate carrying extras of both.

Also, I've got a hopped up Banshee that uses a B9ES spark plug. Can I just get one plug to cover all three quads?

Thanks!

The R in the BR8ES just means it's a resistor plug. To my experiments of changing around with plugs they make no real difference. I used to run a B8ES in my Banshee but tried B7ES since it needed a hotter plug when it was first running and then tried a BR7ES. After I got it all straightened out I went back to the B8ES and then tried the BR8ES and for me I thought it might have gained power but I think the only reason I thought that is because I wanted it to be better. Bottom line it doesn't really matter except that machines that are supposed to have the resistor type plug should never change to anything than a plug that is made for the resistor ignitions and it doesn't hurt using resistor plugs in non-resistor machines.

He's saying: use the BR8ES plugs in both quads.

I was running BR8ES plugs in my Banshee and was constantly going through plugs. Then I switched to B8ES and haven't had to change plugs since.

Thanks!

rob4092,
The difference between the br8es and the b8es is a 5000ohm resister inside the plug to suppress igniton noise. Run the blaster and sport 400 on br8es if you don't want to buy different plugs you won't notice a difference. The banshee uses a colder plug than the other two so you will have to buy a seprate plug for it.
