Anyone running a Hot Cams
#2
I have them in my Z400 and it made quite a difference in the way it ran
if you install just the intake its for low end torque, if you do both its for the top end
if I remember right

Thanks for the reply mine only has one cam and it say it makes more power through the whole rpm range, and has better throttle response. I will be ordering one on Monday. Thanks

Just installed one in my Raptor. Have you ever installed a cam before? It's not hard if you are mechanically inclined, but if you fubar the install, you could see major damage. I have not been able to test the quad with measureable results yet. I'll need to go to Glamis and see what difference it made. Just riding around, it feels like the motor has more torque in the mid and top and is very responsive as well. I went with Stage 1 since I won't be increasing compression significantly in the near future. I also want a valvetrain that will last.
As an FYI - I compared cam specs from HotCams, Webcam and Powroll and found that the HC Stage 1 was a more aggressive grind than the other brands - at least in the lower level offerrings. I just hope I don't have valve float issues with the stock springs...
I've cammed a few 4 strokes in my day and can recommend this mod to anyone looking for more power.
