Default METAL SHAVINGS IN BOTTOM END 88 QUADZILLA HELP!!

i shattered the piston skirt on my 88 zilla.no other damage to note,i was gonna put a new bore on the jug ang new piston kit and i would be done.however i have all these metel pieces in my bottom end.i was curious to know of all suggestions on getting them out, without splitting the cases as it is expensive and time consuming.so i would like suggestions only for getting them out without splitting cases.i was thinking a small vaccum down inside the motor, drain the oil many times, and blow compressed air through it.these are things i thought up,and help is appreciated.thanks a bunch, jake

Man if you can split the case, if you miss anything you will be rebuilding it. But if not I have blown out the bottom end with compressed air and carb cleaner. I got white rags and stuffed them down in the crank as far as I could and kept doing it until there was no more shavings on the rag. Not the best way but it works. Oil the bearing before reassembly. If is real bad I would split it though.

splitting the cases is the best way BUT you can try pulling the engine and rinsing the bottom end many times with pre-mix. I have done this without any issues but you still will run the risk of leaving something down there to trash the bottom end and your new top end.
As Clint Eastwood said "Do you feel lucky punk? Well, do you? " LOL

a way of taking oil out of cars is sucking it out maybe that would work, when you'r finished try to get a sump stud with a magnet to pick up anything left.

I'll give you 50 buck for it! LOL!!! just kindin! I used to work at my uncles machine shop and when this sort of thing happened and people didn't want to or couldn't afford to split the case he would use his parts wash station and rinse the s--t out of it. This was offten done for free cause it wasn't much labor but took a bit. Hope this helps a bit.

P.S. do you know of where there are a good number of Quadzillas, I have been looking to buy one for about 3 years. Only ones I find are junk that people want way too much for. Thanks
