Does anyone know why i shouldnt use Mobile 1? I have seen some people say use Motorcycle Oil rather than Synthetic, especially in regards to the Clutch action, but ive used it and had no problems. Please help me out. Any horror stories or typical problems?
Thanks, Ride Hard!

Most cam manufacturers advise not to use any oil that does not have zinc in it. Mobil 1 has no zinc content. What does zinc do? Zinc is the last line of defense when all of the oil has drained away and prevents metal to metal contact. GM runs Mobil 1 in their corvettes....but they are supposed to be started daily.

I currently have a '99 400ex, '00 Recon, & a '95 trx90 and use Mobil 1 in all of them. I've never had anything but good luck (been using it in all my machines since '95) and wouldn't think of using anything else.

Gary

I ran an oil analysis on brand new Mobil 1 15w-50 and it had 1250 ppm zinc.

Ditto for our bikes (KX 60, CR 80, and CR 250).

I recommend using the 20w-50.
