I am about to install my new clutch in my zuk, I have heard about scratching the metal plates on aluminum? Is this a good idea, the clutch plates are OEM Suzuki, or should I just install them?

If the clutch plates have been in service, it is reccommended to burnish them by lightly sanding them before installation. Rough up the surface of each side of the steel drive plate with 220 grit emery, if they're alum use 400 grit emery. Remember to wipe them clean before installation.
