I'm not so convinced that there is a noticable difference when one of these plugs is installed. A little better burn could be accomplished I guess, but I'm not sure about "seat of your pants" difference. Anyone out there have much experience with these? If so, did you notice any difference? For the money is it best to just go the NGK route?

splitfire plugs can burn too hot and melt a hole in aluminum pistons, i like ngk plugs about 2 heats hotter than normal so they don't foul

Howdy......I use Splitfire in my Wolverine and never had a problem at all...matter of fact it is the same plug I put in three years ago..I've never heard of one of them melting a piston before...

Don't waste your money. It doesn't matter how many electrodes that you put on a sparkplug, the spark will only jump from one - the one with the least resistance. If you could put two sparkplugs in a cylinder(like aircraft engines have), then you could lean the mixture, or raise the compression, or lower combustion temps, or a combination of the above which will yield an increase in power. The splitfire may have a small advantage as to wear, but not worth the money.

i have to agree with wv250r, they don't really offer any performance gain. the extra electrodes are there to promote longer plug life. by haveing more electrode surface area, it will take longer for the electrons to erode the spark plug tip. this is what wears out plugs and widens the plugs gap.

GaryC,

For fun riding, it is mostly just North of Charleston along I77 up towards Sissonville. I run some Harescramble races near Ripley(Jack's Run Motorsports). My neighbor & I go to some of the Ohio County Fairs - they are AMA sanctioned & a lot of fun. Also have done some MX racing at Mom's Mountain in Beckley & at Fred's near Summersville(Birch River, WV). I have driven thru Logan, specifically to the airport & have observed lots of ATV trails, but never have ridden any, but looks like you have plenty of good riding in your area!!

Knowing that the spark will go to the closest electrode (even if there are 20 electrodes, you will have 1 spark, not 20), the only gain you will have is in the distance, they will last longer, caus when an electrode gets weared out, the spark goes to the other.
That's all.
