some people don't think boost bottles do anything. I personnaly know that when we put one on my friends 03 he gained some more midrange and quite noticeable bottom end. A boost bottle replaces the stock equalizer hose on the banshees. It equalizes the vaccum between the two cylinders intakes to smooth out your performance. I believe the 250R and most other 2 stroke quads only have 1 cylinder and 1 carb so there is nothing to equalize, therefore a boost bottle is not usefull on them.

To me they are a waste. One of my friends had one on his' banshee. One of the pipes actually rubbed a small crack in the boost bottle and caused an air leak and burned it up.Pistons actually had holes in them.I actually took the boost bottle off mine and put back on the stock tube.Just not so bulky.

The boost bottle works better on single cylinder bikes. In fact, some 1980's yz dirt bikes came stock with a yamaha boost bottle. Some say a shee runs crisper with one, but it has been proven on a dyno by toomey that a boost bottle adds no extra hp, or increases or shifts power lower in the rpms. If a boost bottle really did anything you can bet your *** they would cost $125.
